We recently read In The Upper Room devotional, “There are no solo performers in the Body of Christ. We can’t sing 'I Did It My Way' and still claim to be a follower of Jesus. We find out who we are and discover our unique 'song' as our lives are woven into the lives of others in the love of Christ."

It is fascinating to see kids we met five years ago as young adults now. Some have finished college and have jobs; some are waiting for jobs; some are in college; some want to go to college and need sponsors to help them do that; some have boyfriends; some are married; and some have babies. They are all part of our extended family here.

John attended the “Lighting Africa” conference, and now we have two solar lamps to show to women’s support groups. We also met with two MIT graduates in Arusha, Tanzania, who have started Global Cycle Solutions. Their first product is a maize sheller, which we hope will help a couple of young entrepreneurs earn a few shillings during harvest time in August and September.

Masai Girls and Mothers
We had a wonderful surprise when we went to Bissil Primary School to visit eight Masai girls who have US sponsors. It was parents’ day, and we got to meet their mothers. These girls started school late; the youngest is ten years old and in first grade, four are twelve and in fourth grade, and three are fourteen and in fifth grade.

Kenya is lush and green again - the cattle and wildlife have grass to eat and water to drink. Thank you Lord God, for the rains. We visited Nairobi and Arusha National Parks and especially enjoyed seeing the newborns – baby giraffes, hartebeest and zebra, Crowned Crane chicks and seventeen young orphan elephants.

This month's addition to the website was uploaded from the comfort of our living room in Meru. The internet in Kenya has certainly progressed. Five years ago John had to get a ride to town to send an email and when he got there the cybers were closed half the time and, when open, the connection was "poly poly" (slow). Now we have a wireless modem from Safaricom and can do everything from home at a speed that is quite acceptable.

Please pray with us –

Bless all who worship Thee,
From the rising of the sun
Unto the going down of the same.
Of Thy goodness, give us;
With Thy love, inspire us;
By Thy spirit, guide us;
By Thy power, protect us;
In Thy mercy, receive us;
Now and always.
