Our gourmand group enjoyed a “Dinner on Lamu” with exotic foods: lentil pancakes, snapper with coconut, risotto with squid ink, mango salad, chapatis, and a rich rice cake. NPC had it’s Mission Brunch – and we presented our “Tumaini Children’s Home As Seen By The Children” slide show. All the photos shown were shot last August by the kids who live in Tumaini. Please click on 2006 Photo Project to see their photos. Contact Marilyn to purchase photos. The NPC Kids’ Khoirs presented “Storyteller” by Ken Medema, and several of Marilyn’s photos of Kenyan children were shown in the “Children Around the World” photo collage. The twenty-eight new children who moved into Tumaini in January now all have someone to pray for them and to write to them. Thank you God for these prayer partners. The “leavers“ (Tumaini students who have finished high school) have their results for the exams they wrote last October and November. Please pray now that they will all be acepted at a college or Institute of Technology for further training so that they will be able to get jobs later on and be able to support themselves. We sorted, packed and shipped a lot of books for the children in Tumaini – slightly over 400 pounds, in fact. These are now on their way to Kenya and will arrive there in June. Asante Sana - thank you so much everyone for giving these books and the dollars for shipping them. |
