Great news! Twenty-eight more children have moved into Tumaini Children’s Home – and they all want prayer partners too. If you, or someone you know, would like to pray for and write to one of these young people, please send a message to Marilyn. Rev. Eve Tolley visited Tumaini in early February and she took photos of all of them. Also, early in February, before it got cold, we attended the 15th annual pasta & skating party in New York City with University of Alberta Alumni. Twenty of us, including the Dean of Arts from Edmonton, enjoyed dinner, and then 8 of us went skating in Central Park, under the city lights and a beautiful full moon. One Saturday, we and four others from NPC served pasta and meatballs at Manna House in South Norwalk. And every Thursday morning, John picks up bread and other baked goodies from Trader Joe’s and delivers them to Manna House. Marilyn’s photo “Harvest Time in Guayajayuco, DR” was selected for the Still Life Juried Show at the Rowayton Art Center. In mid-Februray, Rowayton neighbors and friends, including some prayer partners for Children of Tumaini, gathered at our home for our annual brunch . One weekend, we heard Ken Bailey speak at NPC on “Jesus As A Theologian”. Dr. Bailey lived in Isreal for 47 years so he really knows the context of the parables. And the last weekend in February, John attended a full day workshop at Norwalk Community College on “Issues in Religion and Ethics". The March issue of Noroton Church's Newsletter "The Spire" has an article we wrote about Kenya. Click on the link and scroll down to the Mission Page. |
