Bob and Jennifer Chedester, and their five children (who are all adopted), are preparing to move to Rift Valley Academy in Kenya, after spending 12 years in Fort Portal, Uganda, where they did missionary support work. Every other Tuesday, John (the bread dude) picks up day-old bread, and cakes too, from Trader Joe’s in
Darien and delivers it all to Manna House (also known as Norwalk Emergency Shelter). And the first Saturday
of the month, we and other friends from Noroton Presbyterian Church, serve lunch to over 100 hungry,
and mostly homeless, men and women in South Norwalk. 
Our home is a far cry from The White House, but we and our gourmand friends enjoyed “A State Dinner” here, consisting of Southern US and Indian dishes – the inspiration for which came from The First Lady’s menu for their dinner last November, with their guest of honor from India.
Rowayton friends and neighbors gathered for our annual Sunday Brunch. We were pleased to meet one of
the sponsors of children from St. John Bosco Children’s Centre in Kitali, Kenya. She and many others
from St. John Church in Darien are helping twenty three children to go to school. Praise God! Heavenly Father,
source of all love,
you gave us love in Your Son,
Jesus Christ. He taught us love
by His life and death; help us
to imitate the divine example.
