Easter Flowers
“He is Risen – Truly He is Risen!” Easter Sunday was glorious - filled with wonderful music, beautiful flowers and our family dinner at John’s brother’s home in Berlin (Connecticut – not Germany).

Kalina and Pop-Pop The youngest family member Kelina, celebrated Easter by loving everyone, especially her great grandpa.

Easter was very special too, for Marilyn’s youngest brother Brian and his wife Elaine, as they became very proud grandparents of baby Seth on Holy Saturday. Congratulations Mike and Jessica. Seth is Marilyn’s 10th grand nephew. When Marilyn’s father came to Canada in 1929, he was the only one in his family there. He is no longer here on earth with us, but he has 4 sons, 13 grandsons, and now 10 great grandsons, who are doing their best to keep the Matthiessen name alive.

Shepard and MatthewCongratulations too to our friend Shepard and her husband, who now have a beautiful little boy named Matthew - after trying for seven years to adopt a baby in two other countries.

“God’s People in Kenya” Photo Exhibit at Brendan’s 101 in Rowayton was a great success. A very special thank you to everyone who purchased photos and notecards. These funds will help eleven Masai girls to go to primary school. All of the photos in the show are still available for purchase. You can select the one you want right here - please just let Marilyn know as soon as possible as we leave for Kenya on June 2nd.

On the first really hot day, we took the train to The Big Apple, and spent a few hours being tourists with our friend Diane from Vancouver, and her daughter Ally who is studying at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Noroton Presbyterian Church sponsors Open Door Shelter (formerly known as Norwalk Emergency Shelter). We attended the Spring Gala and Silent Auction – the major fundraising event for this home for needy people in our area.

Please pray with us –

O most merciful Redeemer,
Friend and Brother,
May we know Thee more clearly,
Love Thee more dearly,
Follow Thee more nearly,
Day by day.
